Which is happening at your workplace: monthly safety meetings, or a safety committee? If you don’t know the answer to this question, your company might be out of compliance and subject to a fine. This was the fourth most commonly cited L&I violation last year (for all industries excluding construction agriculture).
All workplaces must either hold monthly safety meetings or establish a safety committee to review safety and health inspection reports, evaluate accident investigations, and evaluate the required workplace accident and illness prevention program.
Generally, organizations with 10 or fewer employees must hold safety meetings and those with 11 or more must form a safety committee.
